MOMA Utopia

In every head exists an ideal city… MoMA presented one such fantasy created by Bodys Isek Kingelez, a megalomaniacal black Belgian colonial patriot and self-proclaimed autodidact who is surrounded by a cast of long suffering subservient women – it is not a happy place. Is MoMA mocking MeToo or Malcolm X? The self anointed architect, engineer and god has been elevated and celebrated posthumously confirming the power of museums to fake, make or break whomever they please. City Dreams? Utopian models? These arbitrary Exacto confections have more to do with totalitarian dictators than with an idea of collective paradise. It’s art if you say so but it’s the opposite of utopia.
